I am a passionate, enthusiastic and conscientious Fine Art student at Loughborough University; I enjoy producing ‘uncomfortable’ art pieces that have made with the use of day glo, ultraviolet and neon colour ways. I have produced ‘environments’ that feature live bugs and Taxidermy.
I began my journey as an Artist after my Art and Design Foundation at Loughborough University, in which I started thinking I’d go onto study a Textiles degree, until I was let loose in the world of Fine Art and decided that’s where I needed to be. I am now in my 2nd year at Loughborough Uni with a bank of creative knowledge and determination to make my mark in the Creative Arts Industry.
I have accumulated a range of creative skills, including a confident approach to photography and video editing software, diorama construction, digital illustration, and I have since found my niche practice via a constant fascination towards contemporary art, which coincides with my vibrant personality.
The inspiration for my practise comes from my childhood nostalgia and the feeling of comfort from my past. My inner child’s ‘saturated’ perspective on life, came from the textures, sounds and smells of my tacky plastic toys I’ve collected since the early 2000s. The level of warmth this brings, triggered an urge to create work that compares the contrast of comfort and discomfort for my viewers. I aim to satisfy my audience with a fascinating environment they wish to explore, despite the squeamishly unsettling contents of them.
I aspire to make an impact on the Creative arts industry to inject my own artistic abilities into a new environment, where I can further develop my skills, surrounded by a team of like-minded individuals.
